Summer is here, and across the many communities we manage, residents are ready to relax, recharge, and reconnect with neighbors. Whether your neighborhood features a sparkling pool, a dazzling splash pad, or finds other creative ways to celebrate the season, it’s important to prioritize safety, fairness, and fun for everyone.
Pool Communities: Safety First, Fun Always
If your community has a pool, it's probably well on its way to becoming the hottest spot in the community. To ensure a safe and welcoming experience, we recommend the following:
A proficient swimmer must always be present when others are unable to demonstrate swimming proficiency.
Respect Pool Rules & Hours
Please familiarize yourself with and follow all posted rules. They’re there to help protect all residents and preserve the pool for community use.
No Glass, No Problem
Glass containers are not permitted—opt for reusable plastic or metal options when bringing food or beverages poolside.
Keep It Clean & Report Issues
Encourage everyone to clean up after themselves and report maintenance needs—whether it’s a gate issue, chemical imbalance, or broken furniture—so we can respond promptly.
Fair Housing Reminder: Adult Swim & Familial Status
Across all the communities we manage, myStreet is committed to full compliance with the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits housing discrimination, including rules that unfairly impact families with children.
A common concern we encounter every year surrounds "adult swim" policies. While they may seem like a peaceful compromise, restricting pool access based solely on age (such as during designated “adults-only swim hours”) is not allowed unless the community qualifies under the specific guidelines for senior housing (55+).
Associations could consider inclusive solutions like:
Lap lanes or lap swim sessions for all ages
Quiet time zones or hours (not age-restricted)
Remember, myStreet works closely with HOA boards and counsel to ensure rules are both community-friendly and legally compliant. We’re proud to manage communities where safety, fairness, and community spirit are top priorities. If you have questions about pool policies or Fair Housing compliance, don’t hesitate to reach out to your community manager. We’re here to help every resident enjoy a positive summer experience.
Here’s to a safe and wonderful summer!
